The opportunity to build an entirely new home is always an exciting prospect and successful construction is largely the result of the collaborative relationships we build with architects and clients.
Our team work closely with the Project Architect or Contract Administrator from the beginning to ensure we perfectly execute the finer details in the design.
Our expertise is in delivering a high quality build with an exceptional finish, a good architect or designer will always be the expert in design.
We bring our build expertise and experience into the team in the form of value engineering. From the early stages we are ready to collaborate on specific, detailed design decisions which may help to reduce cost or improve the design.
One of our former new build projects featured in Build It magazine (October 2016) - a beautiful Arts & Crafts style home in a Sussex village.
On this project, when planning permission was eventually granted, it came with very tight restrictions on vehicle access. Building a new home with no vehicles was far from easy, the entire foundations were hand dug and all waste was transported by wheelbarrow. We were determined to find a way around the challenges without falling foul of the strict planning rules.
This particular project included an exposed, reclaimed timber frame and it took seven of our team to carry just one of the timber beams down the lane.
With planning limiting the footprint and light impacted by the size of the windows, the architect created an open plan design that still achieved the client's vision for an Arts & Crafts style home. Our in-house joinery team created bespoke solutions in every room including the pippy oak kitchen and the end result was the creation of a beautiful 'handmade' home.
